Incident at Sahalee Park Resolved: Four Individuals in Custody, No Further Threats to Community
Madras, May 10, 2024 – Today, at approximately 3:00 pm, the Madras Police Department responded swiftly to an incident at Sahalee Park involving four individuals, including minors. As of now, all individuals involved are believed to be in custody. While the specifics of the incident are still under investigation, we want to reassure the public that there is no ongoing threat to our community.
The safety and security of our residents are paramount, and we commend the rapid response of our partnering law enforcement agencies, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and Jefferson County Fire & EMS, in efficiently assisting us in resolving this matter. Additionally, we extend our appreciation to the Jefferson County 509j School District for their collaboration in ensuring the safety of our students during this time.
